Niche Market Ideas By Richard Adams

The beauty of niche marketing is that it isn't hard to come up with niche market ideas. By its very definition, a niche market is a small, easily identifiable and reachable group of people that share a common interest - such as a business, hobby or medical condition.

It is your job, as a niche marketer, to find those groups - and then discern which are the best groups for you to try and market to. What I mean is, which groups that you have discovered are most likely to be "profitable" - to be a group that actively and repeatedly spends money.

Actually coming up with the ideas is surprisingly simple. It's the research you have to do to find out which are worth targeting that is the more complicated part of the jigsaw. But let me give you a few ideas right now about generating and brainstorming possible niches to investigate further.

Consider looking in your local book store or news stand at the magazines and books that are selling right now. Who are these written for? What sort of groups will they appeal to? Take a walk around a department store and pay attention to all the products there - particularly the most prominent ones - such as those at eye height or on the end of a shelving unit. These are the most profitable products which is why they have been merchandised in this way. Carry a notepad around gathering ideas in this way and you will soon be overrun with possibilities.
